Sloyd AI vs SupaVoxel: the short verdict

Our take

Pick Sloyd AI if you generate every day, want rigged and animated characters, or build game levels from editable templates: its flat-rate plans remove credit math. Pick SupaVoxel if you make a few models a week, mostly for 3D printing, and want the cheapest paid entry point plus finishing tools (repair, multi-color 3MF, split with pins, molds) in the same studio.

SupaVoxel is better for
  • Lowest paid entry: $25 a year for 400 credits, versus $150 a year for Sloyd Plus
  • Print finishing in one place: one-click watertight repair, stand base, plane cut with pins, mold generator
  • Multi-color 3MF for Bambu AMS with 4 or 16 filament colors matched to the Bambu PLA palette
  • Free browser tools that need no account: STL viewer, STL repair, converters
  • 30-day money-back guarantee and automatic refunds on failed generations
Sloyd AI is better for
  • Unlimited text and image to 3D on Plus and Pro (fair-use limits apply)
  • AI rigging and animation, video to motion, skybox and image tools in the same plan
  • Hundreds of parametric templates you can resize and edit in the browser
  • Plugins for Unity, Unreal and Blender, plus a separate pay-as-you-go API

Sloyd AI pricing vs SupaVoxel pricing (October 2026)

List prices in USD as shown on each pricing page on October 29, 2026. Sloyd also has monthly billing; yearly saves about 17 to 20 percent.

PlanPriceWhat you get
Sloyd Guest$01 AI generation a day, template editing, personal-use license, community-model exports
Sloyd Plus$15/mo or $150/yrUnlimited text and image to 3D, rigging, 50 monthly credits for premium features, 2 parallel jobs, commercial use
Sloyd Pro$50/mo or $500/yrEverything in Plus, 350 monthly credits, 5 parallel jobs, reselling rights, priority queue
SupaVoxel free$03 credits once, GLB download only
SupaVoxel Hobbyist$25/yr400 credits valid all year, STL, OBJ, USDZ, 3MF, textured models, commercial license
SupaVoxel Starter$19/mo (first month $9)400 credits every month
SupaVoxel pay-as-you-go$20200 credits

On SupaVoxel a textured model costs 3 credits, so Hobbyist covers about 133 textured or 400 untextured models a year. Sloyd's premium extras (multi-image, split to parts, Ultra 500K-poly) spend its monthly credits.

When Sloyd AI is the better choice

Be honest about volume first. If you iterate dozens of times a day, a flat-rate plan beats any credit system, and Sloyd AI's Plus plan does not stop you after each prompt. Sloyd is also the stronger pick for game developers: templates are parametric, so a door, crate or castle wall can be resized instead of regenerated, and the Unity, Unreal and Blender plugins drop assets straight into a scene.

Animation is the other clear win. SupaVoxel does not rig or animate models at all; Sloyd AI includes rigging on paid plans and adds text and video to motion for credits.

  • Daily, high-volume generation where credits would run out
  • Rigged characters and animation clips
  • Level props built from editable templates
  • Teams that need an API or engine plugins

When SupaVoxel is the better Sloyd alternative

If you are looking for a Sloyd AI alternative because you print what you make, that is where SupaVoxel puts its effort: generate from a photo (a textured model typically takes 3 to 5 minutes), run one-click repair to get a watertight manifold, add a stand base, cut the model into parts with alignment pins, then export a multi-color 3MF that Bambu Studio opens with 4 or 16 filament colors already assigned.

The price fits occasional use. $25 a year buys 400 credits that last the whole year, so a figurine every week costs less than three months of a monthly plan elsewhere. If you only need to inspect or fix a file, the free STL repair and STL splitter run in your browser with no account.

  • A few models a week, mostly for printing
  • Bambu AMS multi-color prints
  • Molds, bases and split-with-pins parts
  • A year of use for less than two months of Sloyd Plus

Moving from Sloyd AI to SupaVoxel in four steps

You don't have to cancel anything to try this; the free credits are enough to judge one model.

  1. 01

    Export what you already have

Download your Sloyd models as GLB or OBJ. Check them in the free GLB viewer or OBJ viewer to confirm textures came through.
  2. 02

    Reuse your source images

Upload the same reference picture to the image to 3D studio. Add up to 4 extra angles if you have them; Remove Background is on by default, so a busy backdrop is fine. A textured model typically takes 3 to 5 minutes.
  3. 03

    Prepare the print

Run repair, add a base or cut parts with pins, then export STL or a multi-color 3MF. For files you made elsewhere, convert GLB to STL in the browser.
  4. 04

    Decide on a plan

If the result works for you, Hobbyist is $25 for the year. If it doesn't, the 30-day money-back guarantee covers the purchase.

Models made in SupaVoxel, to compare against Sloyd AI output

Each started as one image. Open a card to rotate the actual 3D file and judge the detail yourself.

Chibi dragon warrior: a stylized character ready to print as a figurine
Steampunk robot knight: hard-surface armor with readable panel detail
Mushroom cottage: a tabletop diorama prop from a single illustration
Sci-fi tracked vehicle: game-prop style with exposed mechanical parts
Bronze tiger sculpture: fine relief kept from the source picture
Chibi elf sprite: soft organic shapes with fine gold ornaments

What "unlimited" and "credits" really mean

Sloyd AI describes Plus and Pro as unlimited, and its own FAQ adds that fair-use limits, queue priority and plan capacity still apply. The premium features (multi-image to 3D, split to parts, image to scene, motion, 500K-triangle Ultra models) draw from a separate monthly credit pool of 50 on Plus or 350 on Pro. So unlimited covers standard generations, not everything.

SupaVoxel is plainly metered: 1 credit for a geometry-only model, 3 for a textured one. Failed generations refund credits automatically. Hobbyist credits stay valid for the whole year instead of resetting monthly, which matters if you work in bursts.

One more difference: you can't choose the AI engine in SupaVoxel. A router sends each image to Hunyuan3D 3.1, TRELLIS 2, Tripo or Meshy. That usually helps beginners, but if you want to compare engines yourself, read our Hunyuan3D vs TRELLIS 2 comparison first.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Sloyd AI free?

Partly. As of October 2026 the Guest plan costs nothing and gives you 1 AI 3D generation per day, unlimited template editing in the browser and a personal-use license. Exports on Guest are limited to community models, and commercial use needs Plus at $15 a month or $150 a year. SupaVoxel's free tier is 3 credits with GLB download.

What is the best Sloyd AI alternative for 3D printing?

If printing is the goal, look for watertight output, STL or 3MF export and multi-color support. SupaVoxel does all three: one-click repair, plane cut with pins, mold generation and 4 or 16 color 3MF for Bambu AMS. Hobbyist costs $25 a year. Sloyd also offers a 3D Print preset, so try both on the same image.

Sloyd vs SupaVoxel: which is cheaper?

It depends on volume. SupaVoxel Hobbyist is $25 a year for 400 credits, enough for about 133 textured models. Sloyd Plus is $150 a year with unlimited standard generations. If you generate every day or need rigging, Sloyd AI is the better value. For a few models a week, SupaVoxel costs less.

Can Sloyd AI rig and animate models?

Yes. Sloyd's Plus and Pro plans include AI rigging and animation, and text or video to motion costs 30 of the monthly credits. SupaVoxel does not rig or animate models. If you need a rigged character from SupaVoxel, export a GLB and rig it in a tool such as Mixamo or Blender.

Does Sloyd AI export STL files?

Sloyd's pricing FAQ lists GLB, OBJ and FBX, and its 3D printing section mentions exporting manifold STL or OBJ with a base. If you already have a Sloyd GLB, you can convert it to STL for free in your browser with our GLB to STL converter, no sign-in needed.

How long does generation take in each tool?

Sloyd markets its templates and generations as fast and runs 2 parallel jobs on Plus or 5 on Pro. On SupaVoxel an untextured model is usually ready in under a minute and a textured one typically takes 3 to 5 minutes; you can keep browsing while it runs. Busy periods can add time in either product.

Can I use models commercially?

On Sloyd, Plus and Pro include commercial use and Pro adds marketplace reselling; Guest is personal-use only. On SupaVoxel, the commercial license comes with paid plans, starting with Hobbyist at $25 a year. Always check each product's current terms before selling prints or assets.

Does Sloyd AI have an API?

Yes. Sloyd sells API access separately on prepaid credits, independent of the web app subscription. SupaVoxel does not offer an API, so if you need to generate models from your own software, Sloyd AI or another API provider is the right choice.
